This role requires someone who embraces clients and consumers as partners in the process of developing marketing communications, using their input at every stage of the process to inform and inspire creative ideas, and guide and validate the resulting integrated marketing campaigns. In this role, the account planner interacts with the entire agency team, client stakeholders, and end-users/consumers in the formulation of a plan for directing creative communications solutions.
The account planner is also part account executive and reports to the director of account planning or CEO. This person will have a high level of client contact and must be comfortable assuming a leadership position during client calls. A well-rounded understanding of all agency disciplines and how they affect the planning process is key.
Additionally, this person is comfortable working in a remote environment such as a home without traditional supervision. This account planner should be a great manager of time and very thorough in his or her work.
Location: Remote with local office access when needed.
Direct report: Director of Account Planning or CEO.
Requirements: Strong understanding of using research tools and current with technological trends and how they are leveraged in society.
